Responsiveness of epigenetic aging biomarkers

A new study shows how the epigenetic aging clocks respond to interventions that promote longevity. The paper looks at whether epigenetic clocks actually move when you try to slow aging.

The study shows:

Pharmacological interventions (anti-TNF, metformin, semaglutide, etc.) produce the largest and most consistent drops. Lifestyle (especially Mediterranean-style diets) is next. Supplements and most procedures are weaker and more mixed.

Effects are bigger in people who already have disease than in healthy volunteers.

The top 8 interventions are:

Strongest multi-clock, multi-study consistency: Anti-TNF and Mediterranean diets.

Best single-agent pharma signal among the ones tested: Metformin.

Disease populations generally showed larger drops than healthy volunteers.
